State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed said that besides the development of digital Bangladesh, Bangladesh has also proved its capability in the field of cyber security. He was speaking as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of 'National Cyber ​​Drill-2020' competition at ICT Tower in Agargaon on Tuesday.


Junaid Ahmed said that the digital Bangladesh that has developed in the last 12 years is not limited to providing services, internet connection and freelancing; The young generation is also being formed on important issues like cyber security. This cyber drill has proved how capable Bangladesh is in the field of cyber security.


Highlighting Bangladesh's progress in the National Cyber ​​Security Index, the state minister said Bangladesh is now ranked 65th. Bangladesh also has a good position in South Asia. The state minister spoke of building Bangladesh as the most cyber safe country in the world. He also said that Bangladesh will be a secure digital Bangladesh.


Junaid Ahmed said that just as there are different forces for the security of a country, there is also a need for a team for cyber security. He said that they are also thinking of holding an ethical hackers forum.


On cyber drill competition, the state minister said there is no alternative to ensuring cyber security to ensure social, political and economic stability. He added that one thousand cyber security experts will be created in the next five years.


For the first time, Bangladesh Computer Council organized the National Cyber ​​Drill 2020 on behalf of the Department of Information and Communication Technology. 1,006 people from 233 groups from various government and non-government financial institutions, regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, universities and non-governmental organizations took part in it. The first in the competition is Silicon Beats, the second is The Infinity Bytes and the third is Hemdall.

Rezaul Karim presided over the function while Perth Pratim Dev, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council, Tareq M Barkatullah, Project Director of BGD e-Gov Sart, Rubaba Doula, Managing Director of Bangladesh and others also spoke on the occasion.
